Deadlock coaching

Book Deadlock coaching with POSHYPOP

One-on-one Deadlock coaching from an ex-professional player and two-time Rank 1. We open your replay together on a call and go through the decisions that are actually costing you games - not generic advice you could get from a guide - and you keep the notes afterwards.

Playing Deadlock since the NDA alpha. Ex-pro, two-time Rank 1 on the ladder, and current coach of Melee Creeps. I own COACHLOCK and help vet the coaches on it. See my background on Liquipedia.

What a session covers

  • Laning and soul economy - Creep control, deny timing, when to shove and leave, and the farming patterns that decide item timings.
  • Map pressure and rotations - When to take an objective, when to give one up, and how to read what the enemy team is doing from what you can see.
  • Fight selection and positioning - Which fights are actually winnable at your item timing, and how to hold a position without dying for it.
  • Itemisation against real comps - What to buy against the specific heroes beating you, rather than a fixed build order that ignores the enemy team.
  • Notes you keep - An Excalidraw board of everything we covered, sent to you after the session.
  • A recording, if you want one - Ask and I will record the session and send it to you; you are welcome to record it yourself too. Sessions I record go to the YouTube members library and the Death Slam Academy VOD library unless you ask for yours to stay private.

How it works

  1. You send a replay and a goal - Book a slot and paste a match ID or VOD link, plus your rank and what you want out of the session. One line is enough: "I keep dying on Haze in lane" is more useful than "help me improve".
  2. We go through it live - We talk over Discord with the replay open and work through it together. I pause on the decisions that actually changed the game - a bad recall, a fight you should have refused, a farming pattern that left you two items behind - and explain what the alternative was and why.
  3. You keep the notes - I take notes for you as we go and send you an Excalidraw board with every point we covered. It is a lot, on purpose - you can go back through it at any time instead of trying to remember an hour of coaching.

Common questions

What actually happens in a Deadlock coaching session?

You send a match ID or VOD link when you book and tell me what you want fixed. On the call we open the replay together and go through it live - I pause on the decisions that cost you souls or map control and explain what the alternative was and why. I take notes for you the whole way through and send you an Excalidraw board of every point afterwards, so you can go back through it whenever you want.

How much does Deadlock coaching cost?

A 60-minute one-on-one session is $55 and a focused 30-minute session is $30. Team coaching for your full roster is $100 for an hour. Prepaid weekly, biweekly and monthly packages bring the per-session price down, and every price on the booking page is the price you pay - the card processing fee is shown separately before you check out.

What rank do I need to be before coaching is worth it?

Any rank. Low-rank games are usually lost to a handful of repeatable habits - farming patterns, when to leave lane, which fights to refuse - and those are the fastest things to fix. Higher up, sessions shift toward map pressure, itemisation against specific comps, and reading when a fight is actually winnable. Tell me your rank when you book and the session is pitched at it.

Who is POSHYPOP?

An ex-professional Deadlock player who has been playing since the NDA alpha, a two-time Rank 1 on the ladder, and the current coach of Melee Creeps. I own COACHLOCK and help vet the coaches on it, help run Death Slam Academy, and make educational Deadlock content for around 28,000 subscribers on YouTube.

The patch keeps changing. Will the advice go stale?

The item and hero specifics move every patch, but the reason you lost a fight rarely does. Sessions are weighted toward decision-making - lane control, timing windows, target selection - which survives balance changes. Where something is genuinely patch-dependent I will say so during the session.

Do I get a recording of the session?

If you want one, ask and I will record the session and send it to you - and you are welcome to record it yourself. I only record some sessions by default; the ones I do record go to the YouTube members library and the Death Slam Academy VOD library, unless you tick the box at booking to keep yours private. Either way you get the Excalidraw notes.

How do I book, and what if I need a different time?

Pick a slot on the booking page and pay through Stripe - the times shown are the times that are genuinely open, and sold-out days are marked. Then add coach_poshypop on Discord (that is the coaching account, not the main one) and send your booking ID. If none of the listed times work, or you need to move a session, message coach_poshypop and ask - flexible times can usually be arranged.

Can you coach a full team or a stack?

Yes. Team coaching is a 60-minute session for your whole roster at $100, covering draft and comp choices, lane assignments, rotations, objective setups and the habits costing you rounds as a unit. Send a match ID from a game you all played together and we go through it live the same way.
